“I wanted to take a minute to share my experience with Southern Classic because they genuinely exceeded my expectations. I originally reached out to them for excavation and concrete work, and from the first conversation, I could tell I was dealing with a company that actually cares about its customers. The biggest thing that stood out to me was the communication. Karl, the owner, was great to work with and was always easy to get in touch with. Anytime I had a question or wasn’t sure about something, he took the time to explain it and make sure I understood what was going on. I never felt like I was being ignored or left in the dark, which unfortunately isn’t always the case when dealing with contractors. The work itself was done professionally, and the crew was respectful of the property and the job at hand. They showed up, got to work, and handled things the way you would hope a professional company would. There were a few things that came up along the way, as they do with any construction or excavation project, but what impressed me was how quickly and reasonably everything was addressed. Karl really made the difference for me. He wasn’t just someone who gave me a price and disappeared after the job started. He stayed involved and made sure everything was being handled properly. You could tell he takes pride in his company and his reputation. At the end of the day, Southern Classic gave me exactly what I was looking for: good work, fair communication, reliability, and someone I felt like I could trust. “Contacted Karl about adding to our driveway a few weeks ago. We were looking to add a parking pad for our camper in the backyard as well as extra space for our cars and some additional playing area for my son’s basketball court. Karl was amazing! He arrived at an agreed upon time to do a quote and had a really good vision for the area we needed grading. We set up a date and Karl handled the job very competently with speed and ease. We’re very happy with the new setup and would use him for future jobs in a heartbeat .”
“Karl removed a huge (16' x 78') concrete abomination that served as my back porch. Then he relocated all the dirt fill which was substantial, as the slab had an average height near 4' (concrete blocking plus a foundation) We found areas that to distrubute soil for leveling as well as making a berm to direct runoff to prevent flooding. Next was 18 footings poured for my deck. Now it's my turn to work. Overall, as someone who worked in the trades for years, I think Karl exemplifies the traits that all contractors should have. Everything he said, he did. Every commitment to start, finish, and schedule were met impeccably. Awesome experience.”
“Great job, great service, great communication across the board. I needed a gravel pad for a 12x16 shed to be laid in on a fairly uneven part of my lot. Karl pulled stumps and roots out before leveling to make sure there’d be nothing to make the pad uneven over the years. Followed up with gravel and a really nice job compacting it in.
